BAT TRANG VILLAGE
Bat Trang village, a craft village 15km north of Hanoi, is famous in Vietnam and indeed throughout the world for its pottery and crafts.
According to legend, Bat Trang village dates back more than a thousand years, founded in the 11th Century by a group of Ly Thai To King dynasty artisans who moved from Ninh Binh (old capital at that time) to the new capital Thang Long (Hanoi) setting up shops to produce bricks and ceramics for the king’s palaces.
Quang Vinh Ceramic
The company in Bat Trang was founded in 1989. During the first three years exports were mainly to Laos and Cambodia but in 1992 Quang Vinh Ceremic expandes its market and started to export worldwide. Today Quang Vinh Ceramic employs 200 workers, designers and artificers in its factory in Bat Trang village. Business has grown steadily and is now focused on producing ceramics for export. Products are of a high quality and produced to customers’ specifications.
